It's been dead for 5 days. This is not part of Outlook -- it is the Mail client that came with W10, which I installed when it first became available. I had been receiving and sending mail from two accounts gmail and one other ; now it will neither send nor receive. I went to Settings and found no accounts listed.
I entered the two accounts again but there is still no activity. Also looked at Manage Accounts but couldn't find a solution there. That is about the limit of my computer knowledge. Any suggestions? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your detailed instructions. Unfortunately, they did not work. Step by step, here's what happened. I looked for Internet Explorer and could not find it anywhere on the computer -- not in the Start menu, not in downloads. So I can't perform 2 in your instructions. And I can't figure out how to enable it. I ran the Windows Apps Troubleshooter, as you instructed. All it did was tell me that Account Control was disabled. I enabled Account Control, but that did not help.
Right-clicking the Start menu did not bring up this item. What now? Clearly I don't know what I'm doing, but I think that uninstalling and reinstalling would be helpful. But I can't find Mail in the programs and features list. We appreciate you performing the steps that we've provided. We'd like to know if you've tried performing step number 4, if not kindly do so.
Step number 4 will be able to uninstall the mail app, once done you may install the mail app through the Windows Store. While fiddling with Settings, etc. Like magic, one of the accounts gMail is now receiving mail, and I am able to send. Exploring further, and just as ignorantly, I saw that Windows Mail shows different port settings for this account, and this may be the problem. Or a problem.

Okay, I sort of figured that out and tried entering the command again without the remove prompt. My GMail account popped up, and I added my Cloud9 account. I tried syncing these through Settings but no luck. This is not a desperate situation, because my Cloud9 account works fine with Thunderbird, and I can access my gMail through a browser. I have not yet performed Step 4. Ignorant as I am, I felt I had nothing to lose, so I clicked it. And then re-entered my two email accounts and linked them. I am still not receiving anything from my other account, Cloud 9 an independent local ISP. If not, I will try Step 4, the reinstallation step, and let you know what happens. Thanks again. I tried to perform Step 4. I launched the Power Shell and selected Run as Administrator. I tried adding remove-appxpackage, as instructed on the message you sent, and was told "Remove AppxPackage at command pipeline position 1.
And got sent back to the prompt again. At this point I noticed that Mail and Calendar were no longer on the start menu. I am no longer receiving anything from either account on Windows 10 mail. But it would really be convenient to fix Windows 10 Mail so I can get mail from both accounts. Thank you. Eric Ber Microsoft Agent.
